Weekender

by Heather on May 28, 2010

Well guys, it was pretty close for a while, but the big dogs won the Marriage Ref Friday battle! Growing up we had medium to large dogs until my family adopted Arnie, who’s a 20-lb terrier mix.  We always say we should have named him Napoleon though!  I always knew I wanted big dogs to wrestle, run, and play with, but I would definitely say that if there’s a dog who’s sassy like Arnie I wouldn’t mind a small one.  No froofy ones or teacup Chihuahuas though!  Speaking of large dogs, here are mine in typical Friday afternoon fashion:

There are days that I would do just about anything to lay on the floor (yes, you read that right) with them and snuggle :)

Lunch was basically a replica of our Wednesday night dinner:

Traditional meatballs:

Traditional risotto with mushrooms & Parm:

And a big Romaine/carrot salad:

I gobbled it up, but let a little of the salad…apparently I put too much dressing on it and I got tired of that real quick!  Since I am taking a break from walking because of my knee, I decided to hit up the local Panera bread for some iced tea and a snack while I read outside:

Not too shabby, right?  Honestly, today at work was OK, but it drug on and on and oooooonnnnnnnnnnnnn.  Now I’m pretty exhausted, so I’m thinking a little napper is in store before we head to Amy’s for drinks!

What are YOU doing this Memorial Day weekend?  Any fun plans (and please note that sitting on your hiney definitely still counts as fun!)? We are going to sleep in tomorrow, maybe smoke some brisket, and do some photos for our friend Jonah who’s about to release his new CD.  There’s also talk of camping, but from what I know it’s not 100% sure just yet :)  If we go I’m sure there will be some fun pictures though!  Happy weekend y’all!

We’re going camping and I can’t wait! I’m starting to pile stuff in the dinning room to be packed… I keep looking over at the pile ;)

Have a great holiday!

Heck, I am just hoping to get to the park for a little bit. My husband has been working his butt off behind his drawing board so he really needs to see some sunlight!

I’m a little late, but I really want one big dog and one little. That way I’ll get the best of both worlds!! I hope to do a whole lot of nothing this weekend and revel in the fact that I don’t have to go to work on Monday! Oh, the joyyy!

My boyfriend and I are in Baltimore this weekend for a wedding! Other than that…not up to anything special. Just enjoying time with the boy, relaxing, and eating some decadent and delicious food. :)

Camping sounds great! I’ll be in Boston with various things to do including a half marathon and maybe some mountain biking (which I’ve never done and am terrified of.)

Happy long weekend!

Awesome start of the weekend sweet treat! Yum! I didn’t know Panera made that.

The meatballs is making me drool like a pig. It also weirdly looks spicy, which makes me drool even more.

We have an ordinary weekend here in Scandinavia, so nothing special going on here :)

Love the romaine / carrot salad, what’s the dressing?

I hear you on wanting to lay down on the floor and cuddling with the dogs and sleeping. I do that from time to time in our living room floor with Sadie… she is just so cuddly I can’t resist.

So far we have done nothing. I have cleaned and done load after load of laundry. Today though we are meeting some friends for brunch and then going to a friends engagement party :)
