BLAH. I am NOT feeling well at all today…in fact, I feel like I’m in a constant state of needing to throw up…sounds fun right?

Yesterday’s breakfast was on the fly:

Plain nonfat yogurt, a banana, and a crumbled Mama Pea KIND bar!  So yummy and so quick :)  Too bad I felt gross all morning and couldn’t enjoy the fact that I had a yummy breakfast.  However, I got an email from a co-worker about some Southern-Style Bread Pudding with a Rum Glaze.  Really, who would turn that down?

I told her that I was born again in that bread pudding…and I meant it!  Again, though, I felt totally sick and couldn’t eat anything afterwards.  Being sick is not fun, not even a little bit.  On my lunch break, rather than walking, I decided to take a nap in my car.  I slept for about 45 minutes, then grabbed a Lean Cuisine at Target because I felt better after sleeping!

About halfway through I got sick AGAIN.  It’s been rough going since then too…I’m super hungry, but all food sounds disgusting and I can’t be too far from a bathroom (sorry if that’s TMI), and I am still in a constant state of nausea.  So BLECH to that!

Anyone have any suggestions as to what this might be?  Or anything that might make me feel better? I’m afraid to eat because it only makes me sick and everything sounds disgusting – that is not OK!  I love great food too much to be turned off by it!

Also, I’m working on a total blog redesign…and I want and need your feedback!  If you could let me know what colors you associate with Heather’s Dish, what other topics you might want to read about, and even what blogs you really love to read (you can include your own!), that would be extremely helpful.  Please feel free to either leave a comment OR email me!  Thanks guys :)

Aww goodness that sounds awful! Listen to your body, give yourself a break and try to drink some ginger ale?

As for your blog redesign, I love the happy colours that you have been using: the orange, yellow, red, etc! These colours really bring across your ‘enjoy’ message too :)

Feel better!

Awww, I hope you get over whatever is ailing you soon!!I’m no doctor, but it sounds like you have a bad stomach virus. I came down with a stomach virus last year and the only thing I could keep down and that actually settled my stomach a bit was a fountain soda (Coke). I could not keep the ginger ale down, in fact, it made me feel worse. Hope this helps. As for a color scheme you have a very cheery attitude in your writing so I’d like to see that for your blog, such as pink, yellow, maybe light purple too (just like a big bouquet of Gerbera Daisies). IMO, I see no need to overhaul your topics, I love your blog writing just the way it is.

Sounds like you’re either pregnant (?) or you’ve got some inflammation in your digestive tract. That happens to me occasionally for no particular reason (the inflammation, not the pregnancy lol).

Stick to the BRAT diet for a day or two until all settles down. That’s bananas, rice, applesauce and toast. Those are all really easy to digest and will give your tummy a chance to fix itself.

Hope you feel better soon!

haha i promise i’m not pregnant :) but the inflammation sounds like that could be it!

Sometimes peppermint helps with nausea!

6 Heather C June 22, 2010

Ginger ale or sprite = my go-to nausea fixers! I hope you’re feeling better soon!

Oh no! :( I’m sorry you feel so crappy! Definitely take it easy. Drink ginger ale and bland foods! I hope you feel better soon!

So sorry you aren’t feeling well! Hope you’re feeling back to normal soon!

9 Kara @ MyWellnest June 22, 2010

I hope you feel better soon! I love the lemons & oranges!

Aww, feel better!! I like eating plain crackers or rice cakes when my stomach is upset. I find it curbs my hunger without hurting my stomach more. Ginger is also supposed to help with an upset stomach so I always drink flat ginger ale.

I hope you feel better! Could there possibly be a little babydish on the way? ;)

12 Heather June 22, 2010

haha, i promise you and sarah both that i’m not pregnant :)

Bummer that you’re not feeling well. I agree with Sarah on sticking to the BRAT diet. Toast always settles my stomach when I feel sick. Peppermint tea can help too. I always think of warm colors when I think of your blog. Yellow, orange, bright pink, lime green – fun colors!

Oh my goodness, bread pudding is SO good. Such comfort food.

Hope you feel better soon! Good luck with the redesign!

Um, the first thing that comes to mind for me is preggers! :) Although I see your responses above and know you aren’t.
Perhaps you have a mild version of the stomach bug?

16 saltytooth June 22, 2010

Hope you feel better soon! I hate being sick…which i guess is a dumb statement, because you enjoys being sick. Anyway, feel better!

17 Salah June 22, 2010

I hope you feel better!!!! Being sick is no fun…..I usually drink sparkling water with a hint of lemon b/c ginger ale and sprite have too much sugar for me so it irritates my tummy more, but plain toast and bananas always helps as well :-)

18 Christie {Honoring Health} June 22, 2010

I hope you feel better soon, lady!

19 lisasfoods June 22, 2010

Sorry you’re not feeling well. Stomach aches are so frustating, but I find any kind of soup broth, fizzy sodas left to go a bit flat, toast, and rice to all be soothing. Plus plenty of fluids to keep from getting dehydrated. Feel better!

20 thehungryscholar June 22, 2010

Love the blog and the cute presentation of your breakfast!

I was sick for a week and a half and on my birthday. I feel ya!

Hope you feel better soon!

21 theprocessofhealing June 22, 2010

Aw girl! Feel better!!! I wish I could help you, that’s the worst feeling!

And I’m thinking happy girls… well maybe like mellow colors like pale yellow, etc.

HEATHER, as I read my blogroll every morning. I see you commenting before me every single time.
Stupidly I’ve never click onto your blog & for that I’m personally sorry.

Hello. Introduction – I’m Laura.

Sorry your feeling unwell today, big hugs & I suggest chicken soup.

For the blog, I’d suggest summer colors, bright & fresh. Clean & simple, nothing crowded!

23 lpskins June 22, 2010

I’m thinking yellows and blues…

Hope you feel better sooooooon!

24 Sassymom June 22, 2010

Oh no!! Hope you’re feeling better by now–the BRAT diet and ginger-ale are both great suggestions. Ginger is supposed to be a natural anti-nausea treatment. If regular ginger-ale is too sweet for you, try the diet, or anything with ginger in it might help.

25 runnerforever June 22, 2010

I really hope you are feeling better!

26 Kris| June 22, 2010

I am sorry you are not feeling well!

Drink fresh ginger boiled in water. It helps ;)

Feel better love!

27 Nicci@NiftyEats June 23, 2010

I love your current header, so I always think of the color green and orange. Anything bright!
