ManBurger

by Heather on June 28, 2010

There’s a verse in Deuteronomy that says that man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the Lord (Deuteronomy 8:3)…but yesterday I lived by BOTH!

As I mentioned before, I made the Pioneer Woman’s Cinnamon Rolls for church yesterday.  I had to have a tester though…you know, quality control!

The recipe seriously makes the most ENORMOUS amount of rolls!  I had two 9×13 pans and one 8×8 pan completely packed in there!

So yeah, I might’ve ended up eating the equivalent of 5 rolls…oops.  I have no excuse for myself on that one…I just couldn’t resist the buttery, crunchy-sugary, soft, doughy combination!  If only everyone at church had eaten them all…that’s right, I just blamed it on everyone else!

Lunch/dinner was at our pastor’s house.  Nate was in charge of bacon.  We like bacon.

And this is where I saw the difference between men and women.  Cast your eyes on the WomanBurger, complete with mustard, lettuce, fresh tomato, and red onion, with a side of salad and carrot sticks.  Heavenly, right?

BEHOLD:  THE MANBURGER!

That monstrosity is what happens when you take 5 over-zealous men who love meat, bacon, bread, and daring one another to do crazy things.  Like make (and eat) their weight in burgers.  Time for everyone to meet our pastor, Michael. See Michael smile:

See Michael’s face contort to fit the burger in.

See Michael’s anaconda jaw go on lock down with the ManBurger:

Total domination.

Now I’m hungry. I think that’s the main difference between the WomanBurger and the ManBurger…

I know that this post is KIND OF lacking in content, and honestly I’m totally aware of that.  It’s been an emotional roller coaster of a weekend, and when I was trying to think of things to say, it all ended up being things that I really can’t discuss on here.  Anyway, I just wanted to let y’all know that and ask your forgiveness!  I should be back to my normal self soon :)

SO…let’s talk burger toppings!  First of all, WomanBurger or ManBurger?  And what toppings do you want on there?! I’m a ManBurger fan myself (TWSS), and I always love cheese (duh), onions, pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, mustard, bbq sauce…basically the works, minus mayo!

WOMANburger! … most of the time ;) But every once in a while, an old fashioned manburger (meat, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, ketchup and mustard) just hits the spot!

ha, definitely on board for the Woman-burger! veggie style for this chick ;) I LOVE pepperjack cheese, and/or avocado, and/or some crunch (lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle). :)

If there’s guacamole on top, or stuffed inside, or coating the tortilla chips the burger came with, I’m happy!

I prefer a Womanburger generally, but every so often, you gotta give into those manly urges. Lol.

Knowing me, I’d take two bites of the man burger, and then eat my woman burger :)

Oh, and those cinnamon rolls look insane!!

I kind of want to eat that MANBURGER….or perhaps a Womanburger with bacon?

Or maybe just skip the burger altogether and just eat some bacon dipped in BBQ sauce…

Those cinnamon rolls should be ILLEGAL! They look so incredibly yummy I will have dreams about them. I love lots of toppings on a burger – ketchup/mustard mix, pickles, lettuce, tomato, avocado, maybe grilled onions, too! And then I’ll dip it in BBQ sauce. Mmmm.

Womanburger, all the way. I haven’t had red meat in over twelve years, so no hamburgers for me! But veggie burgers all the way, with all kinds of toppings – grilled onions and mushrooms, tomato, lettuce, ketchup, pickles.

I want to make the rolls, I was tryingt o read her recipe but its says a BAG of powederd sugar, well what size :) a 16oz or a 32 oz bag ? which dis you use?

18 Heather June 28, 2010

In her cookbook it says a 2-lb bag of sugar, so I believe that makes it the 32-oz bag :)

Manburger. Hands down. It’s so not healthy, but so much tastier than a burger with just the bare minimal on it.

I’m a womanburger topped with tomato, lettuce and smashed avocado… plus maybe some extra crispy bacon or cheese?!

Let it be known that I made your pineapple salsa today and my world has been rocked! It is SO good! And I am so excited that it made so much…I already put some in my freezer for later.

My coworkers are going to be lucky if this salsa actually makes it to our potluck tomorrow night. :) Thanks for the awesome recipe!

Also, burgers are one of the main reasons I will never turn into a full vegetarian. There is just too much delicious grass-fed beef out there that needs to be grilled up and put on a bun! That Manburger has my mouth watering. :)

Not sure the difference between the man or woman burger…just about all burgers are good.

I like mine with lettuce, mustard, sauteed onions, bacon and bar-b-que sauce…yummy!

Sheesh, the only way I could handle a manburger is if it were cut in half. Then I would probably eat half of that haha. Wow girl, your cinnamon buns look crazy good. Don’t feel bad about eating 5, because I would have been right there with ya :)

That is the most beautiful burger I’ve ever seen!

And your cinnamon rolls look amazing. I took my first try at cinnamon rolls a few weeks ago. I’ll have to try Pioneer Woman’s version.
