Bread. There’s just something about that doughy, yeasty, soft ambrosia that makes my heart sing. I like it all ways…just cutting a slice straight from the source, toasting it, or even just taking a bite out of a loaf.
OK – I’ve never actually done that last one. Something about it not being socially acceptable or making all the other bread-lovers in the house mad…
All this to say that I’m about to share my favorite sweet way to enjoy bread (besides, you know, bread pudding. Obviously). And it’s name is Nutella.
You see, for me great flavors are all about simplicity. Simplicity always tastes good. Simplicity always looks good. Simplicity is always in style. That’s why I live in jeans and a T-shirt, you know. Simple. In style. Duh.
So yes, take the bread. Toast it to your desired toastiness. Spread with gobs of Nutella. Enjoy it for about 2.5 seconds, then contemplate seconds. Until you realize you just used the last of that jar. Easy recipe, right?
I think a Costco trip is in order for another 2-pack of Nutella.
Because even if I don’t dress the part, I live my culinary life in style!

That thick slice of bread looks amazing. But… I’m not a huge fan of nutella. I know! I would gladly top it with chocolate peanut butter though.

Last time I bought the two pack of Nutella from Costco, I was a beast. I had to hide a jar of of it because I couldn’t stop eating it. First on strawberries, then just with a spoon, then with my finger.

I agree about fresh bread- there is simply nothing like it! I wish I could bottle it up and wear the scent of fresh-baked bread as perfume! L’eau du pain!
