Smoothies. They’re so good and yet I never make them anymore. Why is this? I have no idea – other than cleaning my blender, which isn’t even really that big of a pain. And Weston thinks the sound of the blender is hilarious. Even more reason, right?
I guess I need to say this though: I don’t usually like a typical smoothie with banana and frozen fruit. They’re OK, but if I’m going to put in the effort to make a smoothie I’m probably wanting something sweet and trying to be “good” about it. Which means I probably want chocolate. Which means that I want a good fruit that goes with chocolate.
Enter the chocolate covered cherry smoothie. I think it’s kind of sexy because, well, it’s chocolate-covered PLUS it makes me feel good, which is also sexy. Win-win! And with Valentine’s Day around the corner I’m thinking I’ll take all the sexy I can get!

This sounds insanely delicious!
Lila is TERRIFIED by the blender…which I’ll admit, kind of cracks me up. This looks so good– love the chocolate/cherry combo!
Wes used to be but then one time I turned it on and laughed like a maniac and Wes thought that was so funny that he laughs every time I turn it on!
This looks amazing Heather!! I’m always looking for a new healthy chocolate smoothie recipe.
Love this shake Heather!
This looks UNREAL. Probably (no, definitely) worth cleaning the blender for.
(ALSO, thank you for your sweet and beautiful Christmas card you sent! It ended up at our neighbor’s house somehow and we JUST now got it. Love you three!)
How strange! I’m glad you got it though – better late than never
This sounds amazing, and your pictures look gorgeous!!
Craving it.. now. Love that combo! and love SILK almond!
looks so delicious.. love chocolate smoothies, never thought of adding cherries, usually just add raspberries and strawberries. looks delish.
I’ve tried it with strawberries – really good with those too!
Oh my goodness – it’s not wrong at all to have this for breakfast tomorrow, right?
Nope, not wrong at all!
Cherries and chocolate is always a great combination
Agreed – probably my favorite fruit to have with chocolate!
YUM! I have some frozen cherries that need a recipe . . . this could be the one!
I hope you like it!
Really great! Nice work and love the pics! I also am a FFA and wasn’t this so much FUN!
Congrats and I can’t wait to try this. YUM!!
Nice to meet you too.
I love the combo of chocolate and cherries. This smoothie sounds delish!!
Sounds great! Is it very thick?
It is fairly thick – you can still slurp through a straw though
Oh my wow! I really want this like NOW!
I could sure use some sexy too
Love cherries in my smoothies!
I do not use cherries in my smoothies, desserts, or dishes. I am OBVIOUSLY missing the mark. Adding it to the grocery list NOW and seeing how I can incorporate this delicious smoothie into a morning routine. Dessert for breakfast at 200 calories? Sure, why not!?
It looks fab. Thank you for sharing.

Where did you buy your frozen cherries?
I make a smoothie every day and I have never thought to use cherries! Thank you so much!!
I’ve purchased them at several places, but usually I get them at Kroger or Walmart! Dole is the most common one I’ve found!
And if you don’t have cherries, frozen strawberries or a frozen banana work well too!
This looks amazing! I would add some protein shake mix instead of sweetener- to bump up my protein for the day. YUM!
I bet that would be yummy too!
Chocolate and cherries are one of my favorite combinations! This sounds like an amazing sweet treat!!
This looks great! I was sitting here brainstorming ideas for V-day breakfasts that were healthier than chocolate chip pancakes, and I thought…chocolate covered cherry smoothie! So I googled it to see if it existed and here I am! Can’t wait to try (and blog) about your fantastic recipe!
I hope you like it! I made it earlier today and still love it
