There’s just something about fresh herbs that makes my little cooking heart go pitter-patter.
Unfortunately I don’t use them as often as I should or as often as I’d like, but when I do it feels like I’m creating a true culinary masterpiece. Even if it’s just ranch dressing.
I think my favorites by far are basil, parsley, and thyme. But I wouldn’t kick dill or chives out of bed either if you know what I mean. They’re all good, they all lend crazy fresh flavor to things, and they all taste magical.
So what about you? What’s your favorite herb(s)? And do you cook with them a lot?
Happy Saturday y’all!

Basil and rosemary. The smell of both is so evocative of particular seasons for me (summer & winter). But honestly, I haven’t met a fresh herb I don’t like
I love herbs of all kinds. Can’t pick a favorite. And I have to say, if you can grow them, it is so, so worth it. They taste better and are WAY less expensive.
I would have to say basil and mint. Mint is so good in so many summer drinks too! Great pictures!
I love basil!
I loooooooooooooove herbs too!! My fave’s include basil, cilantro, rosemary, thyme, sage…seriously, all of them! Why I don’t have an herb garden is BEYOND me!
Fresh cilantro would go into everything I eat if I thought it tasted good. I love the sharp bite.
Basil. I have a serious basil problem. IE: I have more than 10 basil plants right now… and it doesn’t feel like enough!
Second on my list? Chives.
Cilantro is def. my favorite.
Sage is also yummy as well as dill!
BASIL! I love to put them in flower arrangements too!
I actually use fresh herbs a lot–I never used to though because they would wilt before I used them all. Then my girlfriend bought me an herb savor from prepara. It’s amazing. I’ve had parsley for about 3 weeks now and it still looks as fresh as the day I brought it home.
Oh and Oprah said it’s one of her favorite things. No biggie

Definitely basil – it lives very happily on my windowsill! I love the smell of it, so summery.
I like to shred it up and mix with tomatoes, balsamic vinegar and olive oil. It’s also great stirred into hot pasta.
Basil! A thousand times, basil!
Stevia, mint, and chives are also on the list but basil takes the cake!
I’ve just recently discovered basil… it’s changed my life forever. I can’t get enough of these little guys
I couldn’t live without fresh basil, cilantro, thyme, mint, sage, chives and both parsleys. I keep all the pots in the sun outside my kitchen door and I’m a happy cook.
I love love love cilantro and basil. And chives. And mint. And dill. Ok, I love them all!
Mmm love fresh herbs. Cilantro and rosemary top my list. But I really like the addition of any fresh herb. I’ve been using fresh tarragon lately…first time to grow this year and loving it.
I’m with everyone else on this – basil is my top pick! But, I also love thyme, cilantro, chives, and parsley. I don’t really like dill or taragon – or maybe I just haven’t used those two in the right recipe?
Ugh! That’s like picking your favorite kid… or how I imagine it feels to pick your favorite offspring
I love all fresh herbs. I think cilantro and basil are the the top two on my list. I think I buy a bunch of cilantro every other week. I’m working on a window sill herb gardern and cilantro didn’t even cross my mind because I use so much of it the plant would be dead in a week (maybe less). I also love basil. You can’t beat the fresh taste!
I simply cannot live without tarragon.
“I believe that if ever I had to practice cannibalism, I might manage if there were enough tarragon around.”
