Bacon Maple Biscuits

Today is one of those days.

One of those days where I didn’t have anything made to share.  Where I rushed around the house this morning and just decided to show you my new favorite breakfast recipe.  Where I have T-minus 10 minutes to shower and get out the door.



So, that being said, let me share with you my breakfast today.  And please forgive the brevity, but I don’t think anyone should have to go without bacon on a Friday.  And you know I love you, so I share :)


  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 Tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup 1/2 and 1/2
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted and cooled slightly
  • 1/2 cup crisp crumbled bacon

In a large bowl mix together the dry ingredients.  Add the wet and stir until just combined.  Fold in the bacon.  Dump the mixture out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 20-30 seconds.  Pat into a 1/2-3/4 inch thickness and cut (you can use a circle cookie cutter or just use a knife) into 2-inch pieces.  Place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment (or a Silpat) and bake at 350 for 15 minutes.  Serve hot with butter (duh) and more maple syrup.  Heck, serve with more bacon.  It’s Friday.  You deserve it.

Now if you’ll excuse me the shower beckons me to wash off the bacon smell.  Something tells me it’s not so pleasant in the workplace…
